The owner was not satisfied with simple cartridge's so he developed a pen where the ink from the cartridge flowed when you wanted it to. This company had then revolutionized the pen industry as it had created a pen that worked underwater, upside down, and in space. Since the ink was able to flow out of the pen in space, the USA astronauts used Fisher's pen, thus giving it the name, the Fisher Space Pen.
