The Banks SF Extra GTX hiking shoe from the Hanwag brand is a new version with a slightly wider forefoot. This increases the walking comfort when you have slightly wider feet. Furthermore, the walking shoe has a reinforced PU foam wedge that provides excellent cushioning and a smooth rolling movement. The upper is made of a mix of nubuck leather, suede and textile with abrasion-resistant stitching at the vulnerable points and a GORE-TEX lining. This material is completely wind and waterproof and therefore keeps your feet perfectly dry. The GORE-TEX material also contributes to the breathability of the Banks SF Extra GTX. Furthermore, the walking shoe has strong and form-retaining metal lace hooks. The interior of the walking shoe is made of high quality leather that ensures high wearing comfort and a natural foot climate. In addition, the walking shoe has a Vibram® Trekking SF outsole that offers a very good grip on various terrains. This hiking shoe is in category B for hiking boots.
Category B
These boots provide excellent support and can therefore be used for multi-day hikes. The trecking or hiking boots have a sole that is more rigid than in Category A and the shoes also feature a higher shaft, providing better support to the ankles. The hiking boots are suitable for mountainous terrains, but for the real mountains, the sole is too lenient.
