Item description

These comfortable and sturdy men's walking boots from Hanwag have been specially developed to support you and your feet during hikes on extremely difficult terrain, when you are dealing with loose surfaces, and when you want to walk through a mountain range. These boots are made of sturdy and supple Nubuck leather so that they will protect your feet and feel comfortable. Because seams are the places where boots first irritates your skin, these boots are made with fewer seams, reducing irritation. Featured is the Gore-Tex® membrane that makes the shoe breathable and waterproof, allowing you to comfortably walk in the rain. These boots also ensure that your feet will sweat less and stay fresh for longer. Because of the stiff mid-sole of this shoe, it will be incredibly stable and will give you much more support. The outer sole of the shoe is made of special and extra strong Vibram rubber, providing you with extremely good grip allowing you to stay stable on difficult to walk surfaces.

Hanwag Size Guide

Hanwag works with specific shoe sizes. You can use our size guide below to determine the size you need. Note: The sizes and dimensions are simply indications and can sometimes differ. HANWAG makes use of specific shoe fittings, for example a Narrow fit, Wide fit, or Bunion fit. If a HANWAG shoe has been designed with a special fit, this is mentioned in the product title / description. If there is no mention of a specific type of fit, then you can assume that the shoe in question has a standard / average fit. HANWAG Narrow fit is suitable for those with a smaller foot width, HANWAG Wide fit is suitable for those with a larger foot width, and HANWAG Bunion fit is suitable for people whose big toe is crooked and bends towards their other toes (Hallux Valgus). When trekking and hiking, it's of vital importance that your footwear fits properly and comfortably. Your heel needs to sit securely in the back and your toes need to have enough room in the front. You can test this by putting the shoes on without tying up the laces. If it seems that there is a bit too much room at the sides or that it's a bit loose, then the heel is too wide for your feet. A top tip for checking if a shoe is the right size for you is seeing whether there is enough space for you to fit your finger between the tip of the shoe and your toes. If there is not enough space, then the shoe is too large; it's important to have this space so as to prevent your toes hitting the shoe when walking downhill.

The hiking shoes in B/C are suitable for the rugged landscape and are recommended for hiking with a heavy backpack. The boots have a higher and firmer shaft than the walking shoes in category B, allowing the ankle to be better supported. The boots also feature a stiffer sole, meaning you are less affected by the ground. However, for a real rocky walk, we recommend the hiking boots from category C.
