This comfortable and sturdy women's walking boot from Hanwag has been specially developed to support you during hikes on difficult terrain, for trips on climbing paths, when you are dealing with loose stones, or for walking through a mountain range. These boots are made of sturdy and supple nubuck leather so that the shoe will protect your foot and feel comfortable. Because seams are the places where your shoe first irritates your skin, the shoe is made with fewer seams than standard alternatives, reducing irritation. Below this is a Gore-Tex® membrane that makes the shoe breathable and waterproof. This keeps your feet well protected should you walk in the rain, whilst also ensuring that your feet will sweat less and stay fresh for longer. Because of the stiff mid-sole of this shoe, it will be incredibly stable and will offer you much more support. The shoe is designed so that it will fit better on a ladies calf. The outer sole of the shoe is made of special and extra strong Vibram rubber, providing incredibly good grip so that you will stay sturdy even in extremely challenging circumstances.

If a HANWAG shoe has been designed with a special fit, this is mentioned in the product title / description. If there is no mention of a specific type of fit, then you can assume that the shoe in question has a standard / average fit. HANWAG Narrow fit is suitable for those with a smaller foot width, HANWAG Wide fit is suitable for those with a larger foot width, and HANWAG Bunion fit is suitable for people whose big toe is crooked and bends towards their other toes (Hallux Valgus). When trekking and hiking, it's of vital importance that your footwear fits properly and comfortably. Your heel needs to sit securely in the back and your toes need to have enough room in the front. You can test this by putting the shoes on without tying up the laces. If it seems that there is a bit too much room at the sides or that it's a bit loose, then the heel is too wide for your feet. A top tip for checking if a shoe is the right size for you is seeing whether there is enough space for you to fit your finger between the tip of the shoe and your toes. If there is not enough space, then the shoe is too large; it's important to have this space so as to prevent your toes hitting the shoe when walking downhill.
Category B/C
The hiking shoes in B/C are suitable for the rugged landscape and are recommended for hiking with a heavy backpack. The boots have a higher and firmer shaft than the walking shoes in category B, allowing the ankle to be better supported. The boots also feature a stiffer sole, meaning you are less affected by the ground. However, for a real rocky walk, we recommend the hiking boots from category C.
