The Tatra II Bunion Lady GTX hiking shoe from the Hanwag brand is a shoe specially designed for people with hallux valgus. This means a misalignment of the big toe. This can cause a lot of inconvenience. With this walking shoe you no longer have painful instep and pressure points because this shoe offers the necessary space exactly where needed. This allows you to enjoy walking painlessly. The walking shoe also has a Gore-Tex lining, which makes the shoe highly resistant to wind and water, and the shoe has a flexible and lower cuff that is specially designed for the female calf. If there is no mention of a specific type of fit, then you can assume that the shoe in question has a standard / average fit. HANWAG Narrow fit is suitable for those with a smaller foot width, HANWAG Wide fit is suitable for those with a larger foot width, and HANWAG Bunion fit is suitable for people whose big toe is crooked and bends towards their other toes (Hallux Valgus). When trekking and hiking, it's of vital importance that your footwear fits properly and comfortably. Your heel needs to sit securely in the back and your toes need to have enough room in the front. You can test this by putting the shoes on without tying up the laces. If it seems that there is a bit too much room at the sides or that it's a bit loose, then the heel is too wide for your feet. A top tip for checking if a shoe is the right size for you is seeing whether there is enough space for you to fit your finger between the tip of the shoe and your toes. If there is not enough space, then the shoe is too large; it's important to have this space so as to prevent your toes hitting the shoe when walking downhill.
Category B/C
The hiking shoes in B/C are suitable for the rugged landscape and are recommended for hiking with a heavy backpack. The boots have a higher and firmer shaft than the walking shoes in category B, allowing the ankle to be better supported. The boots also feature a stiffer sole, meaning you are less affected by the ground. However, for a real rocky walk, we recommend the hiking boots from category C.
